The Mark-it Express Story

The story of Mark-it Express is intertwined with the story of my family. Both my father and grandfather started trucking companies and when I followed them into the business, it felt very natural. The transportation and logistics business can be tough and unforgiving, but I love it – I guess it’s in my blood.

When I started Mark-it Express in 2009, I leaned heavily on the collective wisdom of my dad and grandpa. They strongly encouraged me to develop a great team because without a great team, you can’t get and keep the right kind of customers. With that in mind, we recruited the very best people and we work hard to keep them happy and productive.

Fortunately, the old guys were right – once we got a great team in place, great customers followed.

That great team has built a great transportation company. Today, Mark-it Express is an asset-based 3PL with a full-service brokerage and a warehousing and fulfillment center based in Chicago. Our rapid growth and aggressive expansion plans can all be attributed to the philosophy of hiring, training and retaining the very best people.

While technically, we specialize in food distribution, intermodal drayage, and dedicated contract carriage, we really specialize in finding and keeping great people.
